The City of Saskatoon is ready to welcome golfers to the Holiday Park, Silverwood, and Wildwood Golf Courses for 2018.

Holiday Park Golf Course (Phone:  306-975-3325; 1630 Avenue U South) will open on Wednesday, May 2 at 11 a.m.  The driving range is currently open.

Silverwood Golf Course (Phone:  306-975-3314; 3503 Kinnear Avenue) will open on Wednesday, May 2 at 11 a.m.  The driving range is currently open.

Today, City Council passed Bylaw No. 9484 The Fire and Protective Services Amendment Bylaw, 2018 to amend Bylaw No. 7990, The Fire and Protectives Services, 2001 to prohibit open-air fires outside the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.

What you can expect from us

  • Effective today, this new regulation, along with others outlined in Bylaw No. 7990, will be enforced by the Saskatoon Fire Department.

The National Day of Mourning is on Saturday, April 28, 2018. In recognition, flags at all City of Saskatoon facilities will fly at half-mast for the day.

The National Day of Mourning, held annually on April 28, was officially recognized by the federal government in 1991 and commemorates workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and incidents.

Information on public transportation to the SaskTel Centre for public events can be found on the Saskatoon Transit website, under Plan my Trip and Popular Destinations! Buses leave from the Special Events Stop (outside the 2nd Avenue Lofts at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue) to SaskTel Centre.

The National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge is held on April 9. In recognition, flag at all City of Saskatoon facilities will be flown at half-mast today. 

The Battle of Vimy Ridge took place in 1917 and was the first time all four divisions of the Canadian Corps went into battle together.

The City will begin picking up Green Carts for composting yard and food waste starting the first week of May. Specific dates are available using the 2018 Online Collection Calendar. Single-family households are reminded to subscribe or renew to participate in this optional program by April 30 to catch the early bird rate of $55.

Saskatoon Transit buses travelling to special events at SaskTel Centre are scheduled to match event start and end times. Tonight’s direct service to the Humboldt Broncos Tribute Concert will travel from the Special Events Stop (outside the 2nd Avenue Lofts at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue) to SaskTel Centre at the following times:
