New traffic signals will be installed Sunday morning (June 25), in the westbound lane of 51st Street at Warman Road.  Traffic will be impacted from 6:00 A.M. to noon.   

The new lights will be turned on immediately following installation, and the westbound lane will be reopened.  The removal of older light standards will not impact traffic.

What you can expect from us:

Saskatoon Transit will have minor route changes and temporary bus stops in place during the Saskatoon Pride Parade from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 24.

Downtown Terminal bus stops will operate as normal except for Route 6, Route 60 and Route 65 which will have temporary bus stops located on 3rd Avenue southbound, north of 23rd Street.

Route 1 Exhibition/City Centre and Route 6 Broadway/City Centre will service downtown via the University Bridge.

From Monday, June 26 to Friday, June 30, Transit bus stops will be closed on 20th Street between Avenue W and Vancouver Avenue and on Winnipeg Avenue and 18th Street while road resurfacing work is completed. Buses will not travel on these streets during construction and will reopen on Saturday, July 1 weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Affected routes include:

  • Route 2
  • Route 10

Temporary bus stops will be placed at 19th Street and Montreal Avenue, 20th Street and Avenue W and 21st Street and Whitney Avenue.

The National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism is on Friday, June 23, 2017.  In recognition, flags at all City of Saskatoon facilities will fly at half-mast for the day.

Recognized every year in Canada on June 23, the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism marks the anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 bombing which happened off the coast of Ireland.  Flags across Canada are flown at half-mast to honour the victims of the bombing, as well as other acts of terrorist violence that have taken lives of Canadians.

The City continues to take a more strategic approach toward improving and maintaining the condition of hundreds of kilometres of sidewalks in Saskatoon. $7.9 million is going into preservation and maintenance programs this year.

Construction work to improve the intersection of 51st Street and Warman Road is progressing on schedule and, barring any unforeseen complications, on target to be complete at the beginning of August. The intersection is remaining open for the duration of the project and drivers can expect only minimal delays due to lane restrictions.

The City reminds residents that the third phase of public engagement for Imagine Idylwyld will close at midnight on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Using community input and technical analysis, a few design options for the corridor have been developed to improve the function, safety, and connectivity along Idylwyld Drive between 20th Street East and 25th Street East.

Everyone is invited to Kinsmen Day at the Zoo on Friday, June 23, 2017.  Free admission to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo (Zoo) will be provided from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Please note that parking, stroller, wagon, and fishing fees will still apply.

In lieu of admission, visitors are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to benefit the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.  Representatives from the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre will be on site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to answer questions.
