The Bridging to Tomorrow project, which includes the construction of the North Commuter Parkway and new Traffic Bridge, is halfway complete. At the North Commuter Parkway, all girders, which support the bridge structure, are in place on the west half. Now that they’re set, the berm can be moved from the west side of the river to the east side, where construction of the third and final pier and girder installation on the two remaining east spans can begin.

The arrival of a dusting of snow overnight combined with a significant drop back into minus temperatures may result in icy sections and swirling snow on freeways or other roadways.

As many drivers have removed their winter tires, even a small amount of snow and ice may impact driving conditions. Drivers are reminded to slow down and use extra caution on high-traffic roads and priority streets such as Circle Drive, overpasses and bridges.

Environment Canada is forecasting wind gusts to 70 km/h this afternoon, with showers and a risk of a thunderstorm beginning after midnight. Heading into the weekend, weather forecasts predict high winds and heavy rain Saturday, with snow flurries and a low of minus 9 overnight. The significant drop in temperature may result in icy conditions on pavement surfaces.

Queen Street will be closed to traffic between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue today and between 9th Avenue and Spadina Crescent on Tuesday, April 18 for water and sewer repairs.

Access points to City Hospital will remain open. Drivers will be directed to use 33rd Street while work is happening on Queen Street today and Tuesday.

Pay parking stations will not require payment on Friday, April 14, or Sunday, April 16.  Motorists are still required to park their vehicles within posted area time limits.
