Saskatoon Land invites the public to celebrate and explore the community of Evergreen at the Evergreen Fair in the Square event on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Village Square (take McOrmond Drive north to Evergreen and turn left onto Evergreen Boulevard).

The free event will feature a variety of family-friendly entertainment and activities, including face painters, inflatables, an outdoor mini-tradeshow showcasing local builders, and entertainment that includes a DJ, puppet show, and more!

Starting Monday, resurfacing on Queen Street will require phased roadway closures between 2nd Avenue to Spadina Crescent.  Work at this location is expected to last two weeks. Signs will be posted directing drivers to alternate routes as required. 

Access to Saskatoon City Hospital will be maintained at all times.

The City invites residents to participate in the third phase of public engagement for Imagine Idylwyld, a planning, transportation, and design initiative to improve the function, safety, and connectivity along Idylwyld Drive between 20th and 25th Street East.

Using community input and technical analysis, a few design options for the corridor have been developed to improve Idylwyld Drive and help link the surrounding neighbhourhoods and business districts, while making it easier for people to get around the City Centre.

City Council’s decision whether to designate Third Avenue United Church as a Municipal Heritage Property remains on hold, pending an imminent recommendation from the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation’s Review and Appeals Committee.

“Regardless of what the Provincial  committee decides, the City Administration remains firm in its view the property warrants designation as one of the most prominent heritage structures in the City, as well as its historical value and current use as a major cultural centre,” says Randy Grauer, Community Services General Manager.

Saskatoon’s new Traffic Bridge and North Commuter Parkway are literally taking shape. The Bridging to Tomorrow project began a year and a half ago and both bridges remain on schedule to be complete in October 2018.

The six-lane North Commuter Parkway will connect Saskatoon’s Marquis Industrial Area to neighbourhoods on the east-side. It will also accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.

Earlier this afternoon a light standard was damaged at the intersection of 51st Street and Warman Road.  City crews are on site repairing the standard and work is expected to be completed later this afternoon. 

Motorists can expect delays at this location and are being advised to avoid the intersection if possible.
