Since 2015, the City has been working with the Saskatoon Tribal Council, Central Urban Métis Federation Inc., Office of the Treaty Commission, and other community groups, leaders, and institutions in Saskatchewan, to promote reconciliation.

In keeping with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Call to Action No. 79, the Saskatoon Tribal Council and the City are pleased to announce the three finalists for the “Where Our Paths Cross” Reconciliation Commemorative Artwork.  The shortlisted finalists, in alphabetical order, are:

A section of Junor Avenue is closed to traffic north of Claypool Drive due to localized flooding. This closure will impact access to the Hampton Village Dog Park at the north end of Junor Avenue and the road is expected to re-open on Friday, March 24.

What you can expect from us:

The street lights on Highway 16 from Boychuk Drive to approximately one kilometer west of Boychuk Drive, will not be operational during the evening of Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

SaskPower will be conducting some work that will affect the Saskatoon Light & Power street lighting controller.

The work will not affect traffic signals at Boychuk Drive and Highway 16.

Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo (SFFP&Z) grizzly bears, Mistaya (miss‑TIE’‑yuh) and Koda (KOH’ dah), have successfully completed their first hibernation.

Mistaya and Koda started hibernating on December 5, 2016, and completed their hibernation on March 17, 2017.

“We monitored the bears throughout their first hibernation, gathering data that can be used in future research projects,” said Tim Sinclair-Smith, Manager, SFFP&Z.
