Cannabis Regulations Public Survey

Community Engagement Opportunities

- 12:00 am

With the Government of Canada expected to legalize the recreational sale and use of cannabis in summer 2018, the City is working to create safe and appropriate regulations for cannabis-related businesses in our community.

As such, the City is undergoing a two-phased public engagement approach to hear a wide range of views and gather balanced input on the regulatory areas within the City’s jurisdiction.  These areas include business licensing, zoning and community standards.

The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan will oversee all other elements of the legislation and regulation for legalized cannabis use under Canada's Cannabis Act (canada.ca/cannabis).

An online survey will be open to the general public to provide feedback to the City from January 24 to February 7, 2018.

In addition, a representative survey will be conducted to provide statistically valid data on residents’ perspectives on the topic.

The results of both surveys will be used to shape the direction of cannabis regulations in Saskatoon and assist the City in gaining a better understanding of this issue as it relates to our community.
