Orange Shirt Day, recognized annually on September 30, commemorates the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation. 

The free pancake breakfast is hosted by CUMFI and aims to honour Indian residential school survivors, Sixties Scoop survivors, Day School, MMIWG and Two-Spirited peoples.
