The Zoning Bylaw is a regulatory document that facilitates implementation of the City of Saskatoon's Official Community Plan. All land in the City of Saskatoon is assigned a zoning district and subject to development standards associated with the zoning district. Parking, permitted uses, and setbacks are included in these regulations.
The Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw Review Project is nearing completion. Over the last 3 years there have been 29 amending bylaws passed by City Council with amendments covering many topics.
The last phase of the project is to present a new Zoning Bylaw to City Council that includes all 29 previously approved amendments and a variety of minor improvements throughout the Zoning Bylaw that include edits for clarification and consistency, spelling and grammar, and updated references to other relevant regulations and legislation. The new Zoning Bylaw will also include updates to figures, maps, and other visuals.
Approval of the new Zoning Bylaw is anticipated to take place in 2024.
