Dog Day of Summer
COVID-19 Response: Dog Day of Summer
Following the Public Health Order (March 20, 2020) from the Government of Saskatchewan to close all recreational and entertainment facilities, the City of Saskatoon's leisure facilities are temporarily closed until further notice. As such, the Dog Day of Summer event scheduled for August 26, 2020 is dependent on the opening of Mayfair Pool. An opening date for the City's leisure facilities will be dependent on future direction under the Government of Saskatchewan’s Re-Open Saskatchewan plan.
Further updates will be provided as they become available. Visit saskatoon.ca/covid-19 for the latest information.
Dog Day of Summer at Mayfair Outdoor Pool - 2020 Event is Dependent on the Opening of Mayfair Pool
The Dog Day of Summer event is planned for the day after Mayfair Outdoor Pool closes for the season. No human swimming will be permitted. Participation in this event is at your and your dog’s own risk.
Attendance is by online pre-registration only and a limit of 65 dogs per session. All dogs must be accompanied by an adult owner, well-socialized, vaccinated and licensed in Saskatoon. Pet licenses must be purchased prior to registering for the event.
To help with a smooth registration in the event please ensure you have your dogs' pet license purchased or renewed well in advance of the registration date. Licenses that expire prior to the event will need to be renewed prior to registration for the event.
The Saskatoon SPCA will be hosting a fundraiser BBQ, with all proceeds going towards Saskatoon SPCA initiatives.
If you are able to have your dog's nails trimmed prior to the event this is helpful, if not, we plan to have some support on site to help with this.
2020 registration information TBA.
