Current Winter Road Activities

Crews are monitoring streets for icy conditions 24 hours a day and applying salt (used to soften ice during mild cold temperatures) to improve traction along priority streets.
Plowing and grading remaining snow and ice on Priority Streets as needed following melting conditions.

Even with the use of de-icing material, extra moisture may cause slippery conditions during peak driving times, especially on bridges where ice particles may be in the air above the river.
Be aware of changing weather that can affect road and sidewalk conditions.
Watch for blue and amber flashing lights on snow maintenance equipment. If you encounter equipment on the road, slow down, remain at least 15 meters (2.5 car lengths) behind, and be ready to stop.
Clear your business sidewalks within 24 hours and residential sidewalks within 48 hours.
