What is the Environmental Grant?
The Environmental Cash Grant Program provides matching funding up to $10,000 to nonprofit organizations for environmental projects that contribute to a more environmentally sustainable Saskatoon.

Who can apply?
Your organization must be registered under one of the following categories and comply with its provisions:
- The Non-profit Corporations Act of the Province of Saskatchewan
- The Co-operative Act of the Province of Saskatchewan
- Charitable status regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency
- Schools are also eligible when applying through an organization that meets the eligibility criteria

What is the maximum funding?
The grant will fund up to 50% of the project costs, to a maximum of $10,000. Your application must clearly indicate how the remaining 50% of costs will be covered. For further funding details, please refer to our Guidelines.

2026 Grant Recipients
Congratulations to the successful applicants of the 2026 Environmental Grant Program:
25th Street Theatre - Increase the impact of environmental initiatives by assembling a dedicated team of volunteers, led by a staff member with an environmental focus. ($1,700)
Bridge City Bicycle Cooperative LTD - Project is strictly for mechanics to restore MRC bicycles and reduce landfill waste. ($5,235)
Building Bridges - Children and youth will engage in indigenous-led environmental education and STEM learning while recycling plastic waste into environmental supports for Saskatoon schools and community sites. ($5,000)
Fairfield Senior Citizens Corporation - Upgrade wiring and replace fluorescent bulbs and upgrade exterior lighting to solar energy efficient units. ($4,000)
Broadway Business Improvement District – Equip the Broadway BID with tools to advance sustainability initiatives for its 2026 festivals, events, and programming. ($3,570)
Saskatchewan Jazz Festival Inc-Provide a complimentary Bike Valet for festival attendees and expand our volunteer team to include a Green Team. ($4,170)
Greystone Heights School Parent Council - Capture/collect and control run-off of rainwater more efficiently in the school community. ($1,500)
Kaleidoscope: A Neighbourhood Art Celebration - Offer free bike valet inside the park’s fenced paddling pool plus repairs and bike safety education in partnership with volunteers from Saskatoon Cycles.($250)
Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan - Reworking garden next door to increase family safety, expand and beautify community green spaces, utilize home-grown foods, and increase active transportation opportunities ($10,000)
Saskatoon Disc Golf Inc - Purchase and install secure bike racks at Diefenbaker Park and William A Reid Park at the start of each disc golf course. ($1,600)
Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre - SFBLC Community Cooking Classes will promote food literacy and provide much-needed food to individuals facing food insecurity, all while supporting social connection and mental wellbeing. ($10,000)
Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts - Reduce landfill waste and single-use plastics by installing a refillable water station and improved recycling infrastructure for volunteers and visitors to use. ($450)
Saskatoon Nature Society - Applying for funds to improve the survival of birds that live in and/or migrate through Saskatoon. ($2,000)
Saskatoon Zoo Society Inc. - Advancing youth-led conservation, environmental stewardship projects and animal research to inspire the next generation or nature's staunchest advocates. ($3,600)
Waterski and Wakeboard Saskatchewan - Improving the water quality at the 60th Street Retention Pond.($5,925)
Wildwood Playground Project - Transform the Wildwood Schoolyard into a welcoming and sustainable space for learning and community gatherings.($10,000)
