BILLBOARDS ON RIGHT-OF-WAY – LAND USE AMENDMENTS
Proposed amendments introduce a new sign district, Signage Group No. 6, which is intended to facilitate limited opportunities for advertising off-site products and services on City right-of-way through the use of billboards, subject to certain restrictions. Aside from location, the development standards applicable to billboards in other locations will continue to apply
REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT – Currently, there are locations on right-of-way in Saskatoon that can meet the same development standards for billboards located on private property, with the exception of being placed on right-of-way. The proposed amendments would allow billboards to be placed at identified right-of-way locations, creating a revenue generating opportunity for the City.
