Brownfield Incentive Pilot Program

The City of Saskatoon is encouraging the redevelopment of private brownfield properties by offering financial support for environmental assessments, corrective action plans and remedial work. This program is designed to help property owners address environmental challenges and prepare sites for future development.

Available Funding
Eligible brownfield properties may receive up to $50,000 in total funding.
Funding may be used to cover:
- 50% of the cost for a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment.
- 50% of the cost for a Corrective Action Plan.
- 50% of the cost for Remediation Work.
Notes:
- Projects may apply for any combination of the activities listed above, but the total funding per site cannot exceed $50,000.
- The program applies only to properties in the Established Neighbourhoods.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the program framework.
Applications & Timelines
- Applications for the Brownfield Incentive Pilot Program will be accepted through an open Calls for Proposals. Applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- The Call for Proposals will be open until March 31, 2027, or until all available funding has been allocated (whichever comes first).
- All applications must be submitted to the City through the application portal. Incomplete or late submissions may not be considered.
- Final reports and required documentation must be submitted no later than November 30, 2027.
