The City of Saskatoon will begin mailing out over 100,000 property tax notices tomorrow, Wednesday, May 7. Property owners should expect their 2025 Property Tax Notice to arrive in the coming weeks. If you do not receive your tax notice by May 30, 2025, please call 306-975-2400.
Key Points:
- Your tax notice will arrive with a 2025 Property Tax Notice Guide to key information found on your notice.
- Various payment options are available, including the monthly Tax Instalment Payment Plan Service (TIPPS). Join the TIPPS program anytime.
- If you are already on TIPPS, the amount showing on your 2025 Property Tax notice is for information only.
- No late payment penalties will be incurred if you pay your full 2025 Property Tax amount due by the Monday, June 30, 2025, deadline. Non-receipt of your property tax notice does not exempt you from late payment penalties.
Tax-Phase-in Program
- Property owners will find a tax phase-in plan detailed for their property under Other Charges on Page 2 of the tax notice.
- City Council approved a tax phase-in plan for residential properties to evenly distribute the increase or decrease in property tax resulting from the 2025 Reassessment over two years at a rate of 50% per year.
- The phase-in plan for commercial and multi-residential properties spans four years and adjusts at a rate of 25% per year.
- Examples of how the tax-phase-in program works are included in the key information guide that will accompany tax notices.
Of the Total Property Tax Collected in 2025:
- 61% is kept by the City to invest in key civic services and programs including fire and police protection, transit, road maintenance, utility services, waste disposal and more.
- 6% goes to support the Saskatoon Public Library.
- 33% is collected and remitted to the Province of Saskatchewan for education; the City does not keep the education property tax.

Property’s Assessment & Property Tax:
All property types were reassessed in 2025 and will next be reassessed in 2029. Your property’s 2025 Assessed Value, shown on Page 1 of your property tax notice, is based on your property’s market value assessment as of January 1, 2023. This value provides the base for calculating your property tax for 2025 through to 2028. For more information and helpful videos, visit saskatoon.ca/assessment.
