City crews and winter road maintenance equipment fully prepared for winter season to begin
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a weather notification for up to 12 centimetres of snow beginning the morning of Thursday, November 6 and ending on Saturday November 8. City crews and equipment are fully prepared to respond to the winter weather.
Road conditions can deteriorate with the combination of moisture from rain and snow and become slippery with below zero temperatures.
The City will continue to monitor high traffic streets and apply de-icing material as required, beginning with Circle Drive and freeways.
Crews are ready to initiate plowing and snow grading if the snow accumulates. Please watch for their blue and amber flashing lights and leave room for road equipment to do their work.
Drivers should adjust their driving for the road conditions and leave extra room in case you need to stop suddenly.
Saskatoon Transit will monitor and adjust service as needed; however, service can be delayed or interrupted by collisions, blown-in streets and bus stops that are not accessible from snowfall and drifts. Stay informed, check Saskatoon Transit service alerts regarding detours or temporary bus stop closures and view real-time bus locations on third-party apps like Transit and Google Transit on desktop. Pin the routes you use often and receive service alert push notifications.
