Design the Nightscape – Shaping Darkness: Presentation by Sabine De Schutter

Join us for Design the Nightscape – Shaping Darkness, a presentation open to the public by Sabine De Schutter of Studio De Schutter located in Berlin, Germany.
Sabine’s presentation will focus on the opportunities and impacts of lighting design. She will share examples of how light shapes a City’s culture, landmarks and identity and how it can alter our body clocks and affect entire ecosystems.
“Lighting is a topic that has captured a lot of interest in Saskatoon. We are excited to learn how to better place light where it is needed, while also considering environmental and safety implications” says Brenda Wallace, Director of Environmental & Corporate Initiatives.
There are approximately 8760 hours in a year and 4700 of them are dark. Embrace the potential!

A compelling speaker at the 2017 Winter Cities Shake-Up Conference in Edmonton, Sabine De Schutter illuminated the possibilities of quality community lighting design to achieve a variety of goals.
