Residents are reminded to drop off Christmas trees at the Material Recovery Centre

Residents can drop off live Christmas trees for free at the Sort & Go area at the Material Recovery Centre (MRC) until January 31. The MRC is located at 42 Valley Road, near the landfill and is open daily, seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. By diverting your trees away from the landfill, they instead will be chipped and composted or used as mulch.

We would like to remind residents that they are only permitted to drop off their Christmas trees at the City-approved depot at the MRC. The previous community-based Christmas tree drop off sites are no longer available for use.
