Road restrictions at 8th Street and Cumberland Avenue for Link construction
Beginning Monday, June 8, traffic restrictions will be put in place at the intersection of 8th Street and Cumberland Avenue as construction begins on new Link stations in the area.
Drivers can expect lane restrictions in all directions through the intersection. Portable traffic signals will be installed and will temporarily replace the existing traffic signals for the duration of the work.
Construction is expected to take approximately six to eight weeks, weather permitting and barring unforeseen circumstances.
Drivers should expect delays, allow extra travel time and follow all posted signs and temporary traffic signals. Pedestrians will not have access to cross at the intersection, so alternative routes will be required.
Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.
This work is part of Saskatoon's Link project, a modern transit system designed to improve transit capacity, reliability and connectivity across the city.
