Current Weather Conditions
Extreme cold temperatures, during which de-icing materials are less effective and ice builds up on streets, especially bridge desks, overpasses and at high-traffic intersections.
Snow Accumulation: 17cm
Current Road Conditions
- Some slippery sections on priority streets
- Some snow covered streets
Current Winter Road Activities
- Grading snow from Priority 2 and 3 streets, including the main streets in a neighbourhood, Saskatoon Transit routes and school zones.
- Crews are monitoring streets for icy conditions 24 hours a day and applying pre-wet salt/sand combination (used to soften ice and improve traction in more severe cold temperatures).
