Community Connections

There are a number of ways newcomers can connect with the local community. Here are a few opportunities:

  • Community Engagement - You are welcome to participate in community engagement opportunities provided by the City of Saskatoon on a wide variety of topics, projects and issues. The Engage page on the City of Saskatoon's website provides the most up-to-date information on engagement initiatives underway at any given time. If you are interested in participating in a community engagement opportunity, email the Manager of Public Engagement for more information.
  • Volunteering - Volunteering is an excellent way to get involved in the community, meet new people, practice language skills and share your talents and skills with others. You may be able to volunteer with your neighbourhood's Community Association, a local non-profit organization or your child's school or other activities. Learn more about Volunteering
  • Ethno-Cultural Network of Saskatoon - If you belong to an Ethno-cultural group and would like to be part of a larger network in Saskatoon, email the City of Saskatoon's Diversity and Inclusion Consultant for more information.
  • Borderless is a sub-committee of the Saskatoon Refugee Coalition that comes together to plan events around the awareness and education of the refugee experience. They are always looking for new members who have lived refugee experience and their support networks. Email the City of Saskatoon's Diversity and Inclusion Consultant for more information.
