Firefighters dispatched to Corman Park to extinguish vehicle fire

For immediate release: October 26, 2020 - 1:26pm

The Saskatoon Fire Department was kept busy this morning responding to a vehicle fire that spread to nearby grassland turned into a wildfire.

A 911 call at 9:45 am reported a vehicle on fire at the entrance to Cathedral Bluffs.  Dispatched to this location were one engine, one brush truck, one tanker and the battalion chief.

First arriving firefighters observed a SUV fully involved in fire with fire spreading onto the adjacent grassland.  A number of hose lines were advanced to tackle both vehicle and grassland simultaneously, quickly bringing the fire under control.

Upon extinguishment the scene was turned over to RCMP for further investigation.
