On February 14, 2020 at approximately 6:21 a.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call reporting an industrial structure fire at Shercom Industries Inc., located on Township Road 382 in Corman Park.

Three fire engines, one aerial ladder truck, one rescue unit, one water tanker, and one battalion chief were dispatched for immediate response. One haz-mat unit was later dispatched and placed on stand-by on scene. Two assistant chiefs have also responded to the fire scene to assume safety officer and public information officer functions on scene.

The first responding fire engine noted considerable levels of smoke while traveling to the fire scene. Upon arrival, heavy flames were visibly exiting a two storey industrial building. A representative on scene confirmed to the commanding fire officer that all employees had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews. Power was shut off to the building to minimize potential hazards. A water tanker is shuttling water to the fire scene while multiple firefighters are engaged in fire suppression.

There have been no reported injuries to civilian or fire personnel. Martensville Fire Department has responded and is assisting on scene.

This incident is ongoing and an update will be provided as additional information becomes known.
