At approximately 7:10 p.m. on May 3, 2020, the Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a possible structure fire in the 1200 block of 11th Street East.
Three fire engines, one rescue unit, one aerial ladder truck, one fire investigation unit, and one battalion chief were dispatched for response.
A member of the Saskatoon Police Service was in the area at the time and had used a fire extinguisher in an effort to contain the fire. All occupants had evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews. Upon arrival of the first responding fire engine, smoke was visibly coming from the back of the single family residential structure; firefighters quickly located and fully extinguished the small fire that was burning on the exterior. Fire crews performed searches of the structure, confirming there to be no remaining occupants, pets, or further extension of the fire.
No injuries were reported to firefighter-paramedics as a result of this incident. A fire investigator is working to determine a cause and damage estimate.
