This application was approved by City Council at their meeting on June 28, 2021 (link to minutes).
Proposal
Dream Development has applied to rezone parcels adjacent to Brighton Gate and Taube Avenue, as shown on the map below.
The parcels in question are currently undeveloped and zoned FUD - Future Urban Development District and FUD District with the Holding Symbol (H); they are proposed to be rezoned to R1A - One-Unit Residential District, R1B - Small Lot One-Unit Residential District, R2 - One and Two-Unit Residential District and RMTN - Townhouse Residential District.
The proposed zoning would provide for subdivision and development that aligns with the approved Brighton Neighbourhood Concept Plan. The purpose of each Zoning District is as follows:
- R1A District - provides for residential development in the form of one-unit dwellings as well as related community uses.
- R1B District - provides for small lot residential development in the form of one-unit dwellings as well as related community uses.
- R2 District - provides for residential development in the form of one and two-unit dwellings as well as related community uses.
- RMTN District - provides for comprehensively planned low to medium density multiple-unit dwellings in the form of townhouses, dwelling groups, and other building forms, as well as related community uses.
