What is the Environmental Grant?
The Environmental Cash Grant Program provides matching funding up to $10,000 to nonprofit organizations for environmental projects that contribute to a more environmentally sustainable Saskatoon.

Who can apply?
Your organization must be registered under one of the following categories and comply with its provisions:
- The Non-profit Corporations Act of the Province of Saskatchewan
- The Co-operative Act of the Province of Saskatchewan
- Charitable status regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency
- Schools are also eligible when applying through an organization that meets the eligibility criteria

What is the maximum funding?
The grant will fund up to 50% of the project costs, to a maximum of $10,000. Your application must clearly indicate how the remaining 50% of costs will be covered. For further funding details, please refer to our Guidelines.

2025 Grant Recipients
Congratulations to the successful applicants of the 2025 Environmental Grant Program:
Forth Saskatchewan River Basin Council Inc : ($3,500) – Create a SIIT Medicinal and Traditional Garden, led by Elders, aims to enhance natural green spaces, promote conservation efforts, and create cross-cultural learning opportunities for visitors
Saskatoon Cycles: ($5,700) – Bike Valet that provides safe, secure, and cost-free parking for bicycles at large festivals and other major community events.
FoodBridge Alliance Inc: ($9,100) – Operate school-based pantries in two Saskatoon schools, rescuing surplus food to reduce waste and provide weekly hampers for families facing food insecurity.
Native Plant Society of Saskatchewan ($10,000) – Transition Saskatoon's Urban Wildlife Information Network from a short-term student project into a long-term, multi-agency initiative with strong community engagement.
Broadway Business Improvement District-($5,300) – This grant is to fund Broadway’s free summer bike valet, promoting sustainable transportation, reducing congestion, supporting businesses, and enhancing accessibility during construction season.
Saskatchewan Jazz Festival Inc- ($1,500)– Create a Green Team volunteer group to reduce and sort waste, and promote active transportation
25th Street Theatre: ($1,500) – Project will provide Fringe Festivalgoers with a re-usable, chilled water station to reduce water bottle waste and keep the public safe and hydrated.
Nuit Blanche Saskatoon: ($2,000) – Host a free, all-ages, nighttime art and culture festival in Saskatoon’s Broadway and Downtown neighborhoods. Programming will include eco-art submitted by elementary and high school students.
Saskatoon Zoo Society: ($1,800) – Hands-on eco-experiences that foster environmental stewardship, promote waste reduction, enhance biodiversity, and support sustainable practices.
Bridge City Bicycle Coop ($9,100) – The project aims to increase the diversion of bicycles from the Material Recovery Centre to be reused by the Saskatoon community at no cost.
