Grassland Fire

- Fire crews remain on scene.
Crews arrived to find a controlled burn had gotten out of control.
Fire was approximately 200 hectares in size.
Crews advanced multiple hose lines and used grassland fire trucks simultaneously.
Motor vehicle collision – 1000 block of College Drive
April 9, 2024 - 4:20 pm
- The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
Firefighters found four vehicles involved in a collision.
Crews assisted ambulance personnel with patient care, loading the patient into the ambulance.
Two SFD PCP accompanied the patient to the hospital.
Structure fire - 3100 block of Laurier Drive

- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke originating from a two-storey, multi-family townhouse. Firefighters located two occupants who had self-evacuated onto the roof above the front entrance of the unit.

- The fire has been brought under control.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke and flames coming from the rear of an abandoned residence.
Fire crews advanced a hose line to apple water to the exterior fire. Crews forced entry into the abandoned residence to search and confirm no occupants remained inside. Large fans were set up to remove any lingering smoke and toxins from the residence.
