Saskatoon Fire - Thunderstorm Response
July 9, 2026 - 8:51 am
- Saskatoon Fire Department responded to 34 incidents related to city thunderstorm.
- Saskatoon Fire Department Communications Centre dispatched and monitored 34 incidents in 90 minutes for Saskatoon Fire units to respond.
- SFD Communications Centre also dispatched and monitored multiple rural fire department responses for cities of Warman, Martensville, Osler and Dalmeny.
- SFD crews responded to multiple electrical hazards - power lines down/arcing - COS Light and Power and SaskPower responding to remedy.
- SFD crews responded to multiple small fires caused by downed lines.
- At time of Fire Bulletin - many areas of Saskatoon without power due to electrical service lines down.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Apartment fire - 100 block Avenue O South

- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke and flame coming from third floor suite of apartment building
Fire crews advanced hose lines to exterior and applied water through the fire suite window
Crews entered the apartment building and advanced hose lines to suite on third floor to extinguish fire
A search was performed to confirm no occupant remained inside building
Fire crews set up large fans to remove any lingering smoke and toxins from the building
Structure fire - 400 block Greaves Crescent
July 6, 2026 - 9:46 pm
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke coming from the rear of the home
Fire crews advanced a hose line to apply water to the exterior of the home
Crews gained access to the home and verified no occupants inside and no fire or smoke extended into the home
Vehicle fire - Range Road 3063 and Township Road 370
July 6, 2026 - 9:39 pm
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
Firefighters observed a Ford F-150 fully consumed by fire
1 fire engine, 1 country truck, 1 water tanker truck and a Battalion Chief responded
Crew advanced a hose line to extinguish the vehicle
Crew verified all occupants were out of the vehicle
Water rescue - Yorath island
July 5, 2026 - 9:16 am
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- The scene was turned over to RCMP for further investigation.
Firefighters found 1 person stranded on Yorath island
Fire crew launched rescue boat 1 from Broadway boat launch
Fire crew set up scene lighting at rivers edge to aid in locating stranded person
Stranded person was located with the assistance of RCMP's drone and transported to shore for medical attention
Motor vehicle collision - 400 block Whiteswan DR
July 5, 2026 - 5:33 am
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
Firefighters found a single vehicle involved in a collision
Two occupants were able to exit the vehicle on their own prior to fire arrival
Fire crew assessed both patients for injuries
Environmental and debris cleanup performed

Firefighters found an unmanned pontoon boat floating down the Saskatchewan river
Water rescue team launched Boat 2 to aid bringing rogue pontoon boat to shore
No occupants found on boat
Owner recovered rogue boat
Structure Fire - Hazen Street
July 4, 2026 - 10:02 am
- Fire crews observed heavy smoke inside structure upon entry.
- Homeowner was able to call 911 and exit structure safely.
- Fire crews performed an interior attack - quickly knocking down flames on main floor.
- Fire crews set up Positive Pressure Ventilation fans to clear smoke and toxins from the structure.
- Homeowner suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to hospital by Medavie ambulance for treatment.
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.

June 25, 2026 - 9:24 am
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Crews observed smoke and flame coming from the roof of a single family home.
Crews advanced multiple hose lines to attack the fire.
Once the flames were knocked down, crews entered the home to confirm all occupants exited safely.
Crews confirmed all occupants had exited the home.
Update: River search operations resume
June 22, 2026 - 11:29 am
Search operations will resume today for the individual who entered the weir on Saturday, June 20.
The Saskatoon Fire Department will dispatch two watercraft to search the shoreline and river south of the weir using sonar.
The incident continues to be investigated by the Saskatoon Police Service. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
