Rescue/Extrication - Silverwood Dog Park
August 15, 2026 - 12:35 am
1st arriving engine found a trapped male pt caught in the grating of a large drainage pipe.
Two Rescue Trucks were dispatched to extricate the Pt from the grating.
Rope systems were set up to lift the Pt out of the pipe and grating.
Grating was cut and Pt was harnessed, secured and lifted to safety.
Pt was turned over to Medavie for medical treatment.
Structure fire - 500 block 5th Avenue North
August 3, 2026 - 8:26 pm
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters were met by occupants from the home.
Fire crews performed a search and found smoke coming from the furnace room
Crews set up large fans to remove any lingering smoke and toxins from the house
Structure fire - 3100 block of Laurier Drive

- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke originating from a two-storey, multi-family townhouse. Firefighters located two occupants who had self-evacuated onto the roof above the front entrance of the unit.

- The fire has been brought under control.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke and flames coming from the rear of an abandoned residence.
Fire crews advanced a hose line to apple water to the exterior fire. Crews forced entry into the abandoned residence to search and confirm no occupants remained inside. Large fans were set up to remove any lingering smoke and toxins from the residence.
Water rescue - North of 33rd Street East Railway Bridge
August 16, 2025 - 3:47 pm
- The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
Firefighters alerted to a person in distress in the South Saskatchewan River. A witness reported the person had jumped from 33rd Street East Railway Bridge.
Firefighters observed a person in the water, north of the Railway Bridge.
One water rescue team member engaged the person in the water and applied a life jacket. Boat 5 was deployed and walked to patient, due to shallow water conditions. Patient was transported to shore and transferred to ambulance personnel.
