Crews returning to Priority 1 routes after additional snowfall

Saskatoon received just over five centimetres of snow today, adding to the accumulation yesterday. With this new snowfall along with high winds, City and contractor crews are resetting the snow response and returning to Priority 1 streets to keep major routes safe and passable.

Crews will then resume work on Priority 2 and 3 streets. This ensures emergency access and overall city mobility remains protected during changing conditions.

Eight plows and 26 graders are working through Priority 1 routes, and 20 sanding trucks continue to treat icy areas as needed. Sidewalk crews are also active, with six plows clearing sidewalks around City facilities, the Meewasin Trail, bridge walkways and pathways along freeways and arterials. These sidewalk and pathway areas will be cleared within 48 hours.

Please watch for blue and amber flashing lights and give road maintenance equipment lots of room to work safely.
