Expressway street sweeping begins Monday, May 25
The City of Saskatoon will begin overnight expressway street sweeping operations on Monday, May 25, as part of the annual Spring Sweep program.
Expressway Sweeping operations will take place in phases on portions of Circle Drive, Idylwyld Drive and associated on and off ramps, and all of the work will be conducted overnight – between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The work is expected to last approximately one month, depending on weather conditions.
This work will not require full road closures. Crews will sweep one lane at a time, meaning one lane of traffic will remain open while work is underway. Drivers should expect partial lane closures and reduced speeds in active work zones.
Street sweeping is an active work zone. Drivers are reminded to slow down to 60 km/h, stay alert and follow all signage and directions around crews and equipment.
Street sweeping removes debris and sanding material from Saskatoon roadways, helping improve safety, drainage and roadway cleanliness.
