Full closure of Melville Street for sewer construction beginning the week of August 10
Crews will begin work on the Melville Street Sanitary Trunk project beginning the week of August 10. This will mean a full closure of Melville Street at the Jasper Avenue South intersection for approximately two and a half months, although schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
New sanitary sewer infrastructure is being installed as part of a larger effort to improve the system’s capacity and support future development in the area.
During construction, traffic restrictions will be in place and motorists should expect delays. Signage will be in place to guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists safely through the area.
Drivers are encouraged to follow posted detours and use caution when travelling near construction zones.
