Line marking continues on Saskatoon roads and crosswalks
The City of Saskatoon continues to work on repainting lines on roads and crosswalks, ensuring we can all move around the city safely.
Line painting began in the spring and includes crosswalks and other road markings getting a much-needed fresh coat of paint.
Crews have finished painting 65 per cent of crosswalks, including all school zone crossings. This work is expected to be done in early July. When crosswalk painting is completed, other roadway symbols such as turning arrows, railway crossing markings, and bike symbols will be repainted.
The City’s line marking truck has painted the equivalent of nearly 26 kilometres of white lane lines and 14 kilometres of yellow centre lines along several busy roads. This work is expected to wrap up by the end of August.
Please use caution and take care when you encounter a painting crew on the road. They’re not blocking your path – they’re making a safer one. Let’s do our part to keep them safe, too, and respect work zones.
