Line marking continues on Saskatoon roads and crosswalks
The City of Saskatoon continues to work on repainting lines on roads and crosswalks, ensuring we can all move around the city safely.
Line painting began in the spring and includes crosswalks at over 1,000 intersections and other road markings getting a much-needed fresh coat of paint.
So far, crews have finished painting over 80 per cent of crosswalks, including almost all school zone crossings. Crews will begin painting other roadway symbols in August, as well as painting the crosswalks in school zones for a second time.
The City’s line marking truck paints the equivalent of nearly 600 kilometres of lane, centre, and edge lines, and is on track to complete painting the whole city by the end of the paint season.
Please use caution and take care when you encounter a painting crew on the road. They’re not blocking your path – they’re making a safer one. Let’s do our part to keep them safe, too, and respect work zones.
