For
Immediate Release: August 5, 2014
Beginning on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, the west half of the 2nd Avenue South roundabout at River Landing will be closed for approximately one year. The road will become part of the new Remai Modern Gallery’s construction site, the area will be fenced and signs displayed. This is to provide a safe zone around the overhanging structure as it is constructed.
There will be a designated one-way traffic restriction on the roundabout, with no through traffic allowed from 2nd Avenue southbound to Spadina Crescent. Please watch for traffic restriction signs on 2nd Avenue South, 19th Street and Saunders Place. Traffic heading north onto 2nd Avenue from Spadina Crescent will still be able to travel through the roundabout.
There will be a pedestrian corridor on the east side of 2nd Avenue to provide access to Spadina Crescent and River Landing.
Slow down, pay attention and respect work zones. Watch for pedestrians and work crews, and for everyone’s safety, please obey all detours, signs and barriers.
