PROPOSED BUFFER REDESIGNATION – 1800 BLOCK CENTRAL AVENUE
Administration is requesting City Council approval to redesignate approximately 0.43 acres of Municipal Buffer adjacent to 1818 Central Avenue as street right-of-way to enable a boulevard lease with the adjacent property owner for additional parking. The location of the proposed buffer redesignation is below.
REASON FOR THE CLOSURE/REDESIGNATION – The property owner of 1818 Central Avenue approached the City of Saskatoon about the possibility of leasing the area adjacent to their property for additional parking. A portion of the area the property owner was interested in is a Municipal Buffer and The Dedicated Lands Regulations, 2009, only allows leases to be for agricultural or horticultural use. By redesignating the buffer to street right-of-way, the area can be leased to the property owner for additional parking.
