What Did We Ask? 

Three Come and Go Information Sessions were held in October 2025 to share the future of transit along 1st Avenue. Thank you to everyone who participated in these sessions!

Attendees were able to see the design of the Link rapid transit project along 1st Avenue through design drawings and artist renderings. City staff and the design consultant were available to answer questions.

These information sessions mark an important milestone for the Link project as construction moves forward. Construction on 1st Avenue is planned for 2027 towards the goal of a 2028 Link service launch.

These sessions shared information about the updates and positive changes that have been made to the design along 1^st Avenue and how that may impact users, residents and the community. 

Feedback on the design for Link on 1st Avenue was also gathered through an in person and online survey. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the design. Comments will be compiled and shared in a summary report to City Council in early 2026. 

Link is key to meeting the challenges of Saskatoon’s future, by providing an important, more efficient bus service along a fixed route. Local, neighborhood bus routes will feed into the three main Link lines to create a new city-wide transit system.

1^st Avenue is a key part of the Link system routing. We anticipate a high number of riders in this central area where all three Link lines will travel. The new 1^st Avenue designs are an exciting move forward for the system and we are excited to share them with Saskatoon.

1st Avenue is one of two areas in the city where dedicated lanes for the buses will be used (the other is College Drive). The design for Link on 1st Avenue has been updated to best meet the needs of transit users, drivers, pedestrians and other users of active transportation. These design tweaks were made not only for system efficiencies but to improve safety and accessibility for all.
