Firefighters observed black smoke coming from garage

  • Fire crews advanced hose lines to garage interior to extinguish contents fire.
  • Fire damage contained to building of origin

Commercial fire – Corman Park, Range Road 3052

At 2:38 p.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) responded to a report of black smoke coming from a commercial building.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from an overhead door. They discovered that the building’s air handling system had caught fire.

All occupants had safely evacuated before crews began putting out the smoldering filters. The fire was fully extinguished by 3:32 p.m.

Damage is estimated to be approximately $10,000. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Autobody shop fire 600 Block Ave. O South

Firefighters observed small amount of smoke and flame coming from the roof in the rear of the autoBody shop

Action(s) Taken:
  • Crews advanced a hose line to apply water from the exterior of the building
  • Crews accessed the attic space of the building to check for fire extension
  • The fire was brought under control quickly with limited damage to the business

Restaurant Fire - 3035 Clarence Ave. S.
