Saskatoon recently experienced:

Moderate Snowfall

Crews are:

Applying de-icing materials on priority 1 streets (freeway, access to emergency services and hospitals and major roadways)

Applying de-icing materials on priority 2 streets (busy roadways such as Broadway Avenue or Fairlight Drive)

Applying de-icing materials on priority 3 streets (Main streets and schools, remainder of arterials and collectors)

Plowing and grading priority streets

Grading high-traffic sidewalks and pathways

Messages for the public:

Crews work throughout the winter season, 24/7, to apply de-icing materials along priority streets and at trouble intersections. Plowing or grading occurs as required.

Snow plows and graders are slow moving. We ask that drivers to please pass equipment slowly and safely.

The City has employed the use of contractors to help address problem areas.

Residential streets are 20% complete; grading is in progress for Dundonald, Evergreen, Hampton Village, Montgomery Place, King George, Silverspring & Wildwood.

Focusing on a single-lane pass on priority 3 streets in Stonebridge, Rosewood, Wildwood, College Park, Brighton, Willowgrove, Forest Grove and Sutherland.

Crews are:

Applying de-icing materials on priority 1 streets (freeway, access to emergency services and hospitals and major roadways)

Applying de-icing materials on priority 2 streets (busy roadways such as Broadway Avenue or Fairlight Drive)

Plowing and grading priority streets

All priority 1 streets are fully plowed, and 90% of priority 2 streets & 70% of priority 3 streets have one lane cleared for some mobility. It will take several more days to clear the priority streets curb-to-curb. Crews are working very hard 24/7.

Plowing and grading priority streets

Grading high-traffic sidewalks and pathways

Completing a first pass on Priority 3 streets and clearing/sanding sidewalks & pathways. There is heavy ice on the streets that are passable and it is hazardous for drivers.
