Structure Fire - Rupert Drive
August 16, 2024 - 4:36 pm
- Fire crews remain on scene.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
First arriving firefighters observed flames showing from a duplex.
Crews advanced hose lines to knock down flames.
Firefighters entered the structure and located one occupant in the basement.
The occupant was removed from the structure and turned over to ambulance.
Multi-unit residential structure fire - 300 block 2nd Avenue South
August 1, 2024 - 10:07 pm
- One fire engine dispatched for alarm bells ringing.
- On arrival crews identified a small amount of smoke coming from the roof
- Requested additional apparatus to respond.
- Crews investigated and found one room to have a light haze and felt slightly warmer.
- Upon opening the ceiling space crews found a fire that had been burning in the joist space.
- Crews extinguished the fire by opening the ceiling and the floor from the suite above to access the fire.
- Fire Investigator has deemed the fire accidental caused by an electrical malfunction and it originated in the concealed joist space between the ceiling and floor above.
- 4 suites sustained damage as a result of the fire
- The damage is estimated to be $150,000
- 38 individuals were displaced, and the properties agent has confirmed that they were able to find suitable accommodations for all 38 individuals.
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Firefighters observed a duplex fully involved and one unit of a second duplex also involved.
Crews advanced hose lines for an exterior attack.
An aerial ladder was set up to extinguish the fire from above.

Crews advanced a hose line to apply water to flames from exterior and then made entry into structure to continue to apply water

Crews advanced hose lines to apply water to the exterior of the house while another crew entered the building to confirm all occupants were outside of structure.

- Firefighters observed smoke and flames coming from a detached garage.
- Crews advanced a hose line to apply water the exterior fire while another crew entered the building to search and confirm no occupants were inside.
- A fire investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

- The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
Structure Fire - 2600 Block of Jasper Avenue

- Fire crews remain on scene.

Heavy smoke observed upon arrival.
Crews were assigned tactical duties.
Actively extinguishing the fire at this time.
Utilities have been shut down.
All occupants were reported to be evacuated upon arrival of fire crews.

Firefighters observed smoke and flame coming from the front basement window of the duplex residence.
Crews advanced hose lines to apply water to the seat of the fire while another crew entered the building to search and confirm no occupants were remaining inside. The fire was brought quickly under control and it was confirmed occupants were out of the home.
Motor Vehicle Collision with a House - 1400 block Louise Ave.
July 22, 2024 - 1:01 am
- The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
First arriving crews found a Dodge Ram had driven into a house.
Fire crews stabilized the vehicle.
Fire crews removed a road sign that was caught in the windshield.
Fire crews extricated the driver.
The driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Residents of the house were not injured.
