With e-scooters becoming a more common mode of transportation on city roads and shared pathways, remember to be a responsible and respectful rider.

Shared e-scooters have been allowed in Saskatoon since 2023. City Council voted to allow privately owned e-scooters on the public right-of-way at their May 2025 meeting.

Under the provincial regulations for limited speed motor vehicles, e-scooter users must be at least 16 years old and are required to wear a helmet.

In Saskatoon, e-scooters are permitted on streets with posted speed limits 50 km/h or less, shared-use paths, cycle tracks and protected bike lanes. Sidewalk riding is not allowed, and scooters should not be operated at a speed greater than 24 km/h.

When travelling on shared paths, riders should use a bell or horn to signal to pedestrians and cyclists. Give as much space as possible when passing.
