Spring BYXE Week is in the air!
April 29, 2025 - 2:00pm
Strap on your helmet. Grab onto your handlebars. Kick up your kickstand. And start pedalling!
Join cyclists across the city to celebrate Spring BYXE Week, May 10 - 18, 2025. Many activities and events are planned throughout the week, including Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 15. Saskatoon Cycles is coordinating these events in partnership with the City of Saskatoon, including a BYXE Week scavenger hunt and photo contest.
BYXE Week is a great time to tune-up your bikes and explore Saskatoon in all its springtime beauty. Plan your route with the Cycling Guide – find the guide and more helpful biking tips at saskatoon.ca/byxe.
Bike to Work Day will be held on Thursday, May 15. Commuter Stations, sponsored by local organizations and businesses, will be serving refreshments and snacks for people on bikes during their morning and afternoon commutes. Morning stations run from 7 - 9 a.m. After work commuter stations have variable times.
If you live too far away to ride your bike, consider taking Saskatoon Transit part of the way. All buses are equipped with front bike racks that are easy to use. Plan your trip using the Transit app.
It’s important for cyclists, motorists and pedestrians to be respectful of each other. Before you get on your way, take a break and check out these helpful tips for sharing the road.
Visit SaskatoonCycles.org/byxe for detailed information about activities and join our Facebook Event for updates!

City to lower flags in recognition of National Day of Mourning
April 28, 2025 - 7:00am
The National Day of Mourning is observed annually on April 28. In recognition, flags at all City of Saskatoon facilities will fly at half-mast for the day.
The National Day of Mourning was officially recognized by the federal government in 1991 and commemorates workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace-related hazards and incidents. It’s also a day to collectively renew our commitment to improving health and safety in the workplace and to preventing further injuries, illnesses and deaths.
The City of Saskatoon is committed to safety in all we do. The National Day of Mourning is an opportunity to create important awareness about workplace safety and our organization’s commitment to ensure every employee goes home safe and healthy at the end of every workday.
