The City of Saskatoon will be adjusting the hours of operation at its indoor Leisure Centres by 30 minutes per day effective January 1, 2026. Hours of operation from January 1 to March 31, 2026, will be as follows:

Cosmo Civic Centre
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Closed Statutory holidays

Saskatoon Field House
Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Lawson Civic Centre
Monday to Thursday 6:15 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Friday 6:15 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Lakewood Civic Centre
Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Shaw Centre
Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The change was approved by City Council during the 2026-27 multi-year business plan and budget process as part of ongoing efforts to manage costs responsibly while continuing to provide high-quality recreation services.

After Saskatoon received approximately 9cm of snow, the City has declared a Snow Event.

City and contractor crews are mobilized with 26 graders and eight plows maintaining Priority streets, while 16 sanding trucks continue to address icy conditions. Six sidewalk plows will be maintaining City-owned sidewalks, as well as bridge decks, and pathways, which will be cleared within 48 hours.

The snow event response follows the Priority Street system:

Priority 1 – Freeways and major arterials. This includes Circle Dr. and streets with three+ lanes each way like Idylwyld Dr. 22nd St and College Dr.

Priority 2 - Arterials with double-lanes and bus routes. Double-lane streets like Clarence Ave, McKercher Dr. and Millar Ave.

Priority 3 - Collector streets, remaining Business Improvement District streets and school zones. These streets take you through your neighbourhood like Louise Ave, Howell Ave. and Main St.

Crews will remain active throughout the event until priority routes are graded.

Drivers are reminded to watch for blue and amber flashing lights and give road maintenance equipment the space needed to operate.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a weather warning for Saskatoon, forecasting 10 to 15 centimetres of snow throughout the day Friday and into Saturday morning. This amount of snow can quickly create challenging driving conditions, including slippery sections on high-traffic routes.

City crews will be on the streets during the storm. Sanding trucks will manage icy sections while plows and graders will clear snow as it accumulates on priority routes.

Drivers are asked to watch for blue and amber flashing lights on road maintenance equipment and give operators the room they need to work safely.

Once a Snow Event is declared – following a more than 5cm snowfall - Residents can follow progress through the Priority Street Snow Grading Map. More information, including the City’s winter road maintenance service level, is available at saskatoon.ca/snow.

33rd Street will be closed between 10th and Edward avenues on Saturday, December 27, starting at 8:00 a.m. for a curb stop replacement. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the area. This project is expected to take one day to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.
