After more than two years, Saskatoon City Council and its Committees will resume in-person meetings in April and will reopen Council Chamber to the public. Meetings have been conducted virtually online since shortly after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Avenue C will be closed between 45th Street and Hangar Road on Sunday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. for sewer inspection work. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around this detour. This project is expected to take six hours to complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances or weather delays.            

A recommendation to increase funding to the Saskatoon SPCA (SPCA) for pound services in 2022 will be presented to the Standing Policy Committee on Planning, Development & Community Services at its meeting on Tuesday, April 12.

2nd Avenue will be closed between 20th and 21st streets on Sunday, April 10, at 8:00 a.m. for manhole repair work. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone. This project is expected to take one day to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.                          

33rd Street will be closed between Avenue H and Avenue K on Sunday, April 10, at 8:00 a.m. for road resurfacing work. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around this detour. This project is expected to take four hours to complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances or weather delays.           

A facility upgrade has begun at Lakewood Civic Centre that includes replacement of windows and heaters in the pool area.  This project will make the building more energy efficient and is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Lakewood Civic Centre will remain open throughout the upgrade; however, there will be short term closures to the waterslide and portions of the pool. 

At this time the following closures have been scheduled:
April 11 to 14: The waterslide will be closed while construction hoarding is being built near the waterslide. 

For the 14th consecutive year, the City of Saskatoon has won the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
