Update: Structure Fire - 700 block of Circle Drive East

A Saskatoon Fire Investigator has determined a fire in a commercial building Friday night was caused by a faulty e‑bike battery. The fire originated in a battery testing room before spreading throughout the structure. Damage is estimated at $1.5 million.
The Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) responded on March 13 to a call for a structure fire in a business on the 700 block of Circle Drive East. Crews worked through the night, bringing the flames under control at 2:19 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.
Lack of safe access to hot spots prolonged SFD’s response; a track-hoe was brought in on Saturday to knock holes through the walls and allow water to be poured inside.
2nd Alarm Fire - 700 Blk Circle Drive E

- 2 Alarm Fire - 4 Engine companies, 2 Ladder companies, a Heavy Rescue unit and Battalion Chief responded to structure fire.
- SFD crews advanced multiple large diameter hose lines to attack fire.
- SFD crews performed forcible entry to make entry into structure to fight fire.
Saskatoon Police shut down 4 blocks of Circle Drive to ensure firefighter safety during operation.
- The fire has been brought under control.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- Fire crews remain on scene.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
First arriving Engine company observed heavy smoke conditions at a large commercial structure.
Smoke in a Building - 4300 block of Brighton Circle

- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- The fire has been brought under control.
- A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- Fire crews remain on scene.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Saskatoon Fire Department responded to reported fire and smoked exiting a 3 story apartment building with a 2nd Alarm response that included 4 Pumpers, 2 Aerial Ladders, 1 Rescue Truck and a Battalion Chief. On arrival, Incident Command stated that an evacuation was in progress with alarm bells activated and smoke light smoke showing.
Incident Command began assigning tactical assignments after scene size-up was completed. Attack Group-1 made entry into building and located which suite was the source of the smoke. After entering suite, firefighters encountered smoke and located a cardboard box on top of the stove. The sprinkler system was activated, and suppressed and contained fire to the kitchen area. Crews began to ventilate suite and building so occupants may re-enter.
Garage fire - 1300 block of 23rd Street W

- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed smoke and flames coming from a detached garage. The fire extended to a nearby power pole, causing a power line to fall and arc.
Fire crews applied water from outside with multiple hose lines. A single vehicle was inside the garage. Saskatoon Light & Power was called to repair the fallen power line.
Outside fire - University Bridge 700 block of 25th Street
March 8, 2026 - 6:59 pm
- The fire has been completely extinguished.
- There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
- A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
Firefighters observed light smoke coming from underside of the bridge and located a small fire in the archway on the west side of the bridge.
Fire crews deployed a ground ladder to access the archway and advanced a hose line to extinguish a small fire. Heat from the fire melted a sanitary sewer line located beneath the bridge. A City engineer and Water & Sewer Department have been dispatched to the scene to assess damage.
