The City of Saskatoon invites members of the public to view the Book of Remembrance, on display in the front lobby of Civic Square East (CSE) at 202 4th Avenue North, where the City Archives are located, until Friday, November 14.
Compiled by the Military Institute of Saskatoon, an association of former and serving officers of the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, the book contains names and biographical information honoring those from our city who gave their lives during the Second World War, the Korean War, Canada’s peacetime operations and in Afghanistan.
A companion to the First World War book created in 2014, the Book of Remembrance was formally presented to the City on October 22, 2018. It is permanently housed at the City of Saskatoon Archives, with copies available at local libraries.
We encourage residents to take part in this important commemoration and join us in remembering the sacrifices made for our freedoms.
