MORE FLEXPARKING PAY STATIONS TO BE ACTIVATED IN THE BROADWAY AREA
September 8, 2015 - 3:58am
- Have your licence plate number handy; you’ll need it at every transaction.
- Don’t forget to note the maximum allowable time where you’re parking; you can only park as long as the sign indicates, regardless of how much time you buy.
- You don’t need to display a dashboard ticket; your plate provides proof of payment.
- Balances on your parking purchase can be carried forward to any space that’s been switched over to the new system; balances cannot be applied to coin-metered spaces.
As the City of Saskatoon (City) continues to roll out the FlexParking program in stages, an additional 20 pay stations will be activated on Wednesday, September 9, throughout the Broadway area.
Before the new, flexible pay stations are turned on, the old coin meters will be removed. As long as drivers encounter an unhooded, active coin meter, that’s where they should pay.
More stations will continue to be activated at other locations across the city in the weeks to come.
Important tips and reminders:
The City’s Disability and Veteran Parking Permit Program remains unchanged, and drivers are still required to display their placards.
For more information, including a map of where the new FlexParking pay stations are installed, as well as frequently asked questions, visit saskatoon.ca/flexparking or call 306-975-2548.

WINTERIZATION OF PARK IRRIGATION SYSTEMS UNDERWAY
September 3, 2015 - 9:58am
City of Saskatoon (City) crews have begun annual winterization of the 409 irrigation systems in Saskatoon parks. Winterization is an important maintenance procedure to help ensure the longevity of the City’s irrigation infrastructure.
Irrigation system winterization involves the use of large compressors that force air through the irrigation pipes, removing any residual water so it will not freeze in the pipes. The City requests that the public respect and follow all signage at worksites. The force of the air through the pipes shoots water out from the sprinkler heads at a high pressure and may pick up debris during this process.
To ensure public safety, residents are asked to please stay clear of all sprinkler heads and related winterization equipment during maintenance.
The winterization process is expected to take six weeks.
