Wanuskewin Road to reopen Sunday evening as Biosolids Pipeline Corridor project advances
October 30, 2026 - 2:00pm
Final paving work on Wanuskewin Road is scheduled to take place this weekend, with the road expected to reopen to two-way traffic north of 72nd Street the evening of Sunday, November 1 as construction on the Biosolids Pipeline Corridor project progresses.
The City would like to thank residents, commuters and businesses for their patience throughout the road closure and construction period. This critical infrastructure project will help strengthen the City’s essential services and support Saskatoon’s future growth and development.
While Wanuskewin Road will fully reopen to traffic, construction activities related to the project will continue in the area. Drivers may still encounter intermittent lane restrictions, reduced speeds or construction vehicles and are reminded to follow all posted signage and exercise caution while travelling through the area.

Southbound lane restrictions on Idylwyld Drive N starting Monday for overpass repairs
October 30, 2026 - 9:00am
Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, lane restrictions will be in place on southbound Idylwyld Drive N to allow for repairs to the 51st Street and Avenue C N overpass following damage caused by an oversized load striking the structure earlier this year.
The work will be completed in the southbound curb and acceleration lanes, with traffic shifted to the median lane.
The southbound exit ramp to 51st Street will remain open throughout the project.
Construction is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting and subject to unforeseen circumstances. The project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, anticipate delays and use caution when travelling through the work zone. The City thanks residents and commuters for their patience during this important repair work.
Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.

Direct bus service to the Saskatoon Blades game against the Seattle Thunderbirds at SaskTel Centre tomorrow, October 31, at 2:00 p.m. will depart from the Special Events Stop (23rd Street and 2nd Avenue) at the following times:
Regular fares apply ($3.25 per trip) and can be purchased on your mobile phone using either the TGo or Transit apps, transfers and passes are also accepted.
Post-event drop-off is at the downtown terminal. Typically, buses arrive on site 30 minutes prior to the end of the event.

New traffic signals to be activated at Preston Avenue and Wilson Crescent Friday

New traffic signals at the intersection of Preston Avenue and Wilson Crescent are scheduled to be activated on Friday, October 30. The signals have been installed to improve safety and help accommodate increasing traffic volumes at the intersection.
During the activation process, there will be a brief period when the signals operate in flashing red mode. While the signals are flashing red, motorists must treat the intersection as a three-way stop and proceed only when it is safe to do so.

12th Street E will be closed between McKinnon Avenue S and Munroe Avenue S for road patching starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 30 until 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the area. The City thanks everyone in advance for their patience.
This work is weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

College Drive and Wiggins intersection traffic restrictions tomorrow morning
October 28, 2026 - 4:30pm
As part of ongoing Link construction and traffic signal work along College Drive, access to the University of Saskatchewan from westbound College Drive to northbound Wiggins Road will be temporarily restricted starting Thursday, October 29 at 9:00 a.m. while crews complete additional traffic signal installation at the intersection.
The northbound lane into campus will be closed for approximately three hours while traffic signal poles are installed. The exit from southbound Wiggins Road to westbound College Drive will remain open, and pedestrian access will be maintained.
