City crews prepared for snowfall in Saskatoon
March 24, 2026 - 2:30pm
City crews are ready to respond as Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather statement for Saskatoon, forecasting approximately 10 centimetres of snow accumulation beginning overnight into Wednesday and potentially Thursday morning. This amount of snow can quickly create challenging driving conditions, including slippery sections on high-traffic routes.
The City will have plows and graders ready to clear snow if it accumulates on priority routes and sanding trucks will be active managing icy sections. Following the snowfall, crews will also clear City facility sidewalks, the Meewasin Trail, park pathways with lighting and bridge and overpass walkways.
Drivers are asked to watch for blue and amber flashing lights on road maintenance equipment and to give operators the room they need to work safely.
If more than 5 centimetres of snow falls a snow event will be declared, and residents will be able to follow snow grading progress through the Priority Street Snow Grading Map. More information, including the City’s winter road maintenance service level, is available at saskatoon.ca/snow.
Saskatoon Transit will monitor and adjust service as needed; however, service can be delayed or interrupted by collisions, blown-in streets and bus stops that are not accessible due to snowfall and drifts. Stay informed: check Saskatoon Transit service alerts for detours or temporary bus stop closures and view real-time bus locations on third-party apps like Transit and Google Transit on desktop. Pin the routes you use often and receive service alert push notifications.
Residents can also report driving concerns due to snow accumulation or rutting, or concerns related to snow piles, City sidewalks or other snow clearing issues.
Northbound lane restrictions lifted between Laurier Drive and Clancy Drive

The northbound lane restrictions on Circle Drive have been lifted between Laurier and Clancy drives, and the northbound ramps at Clancy Drive and 22nd Street have been reopened to traffic following a motor vehicle collision on Monday afternoon.

Northbound lanes restricted between Circle Drive and Clancy Drive

Traffic restrictions are in place as the Saskatoon Police Service responds to a motor vehicle collision at Circle Drive and Laurier Drive. Northbound lanes between Clancy Drive and Laurier Drive are restricted due to limited northbound access, as ramps at Clancy Drive and 22nd Street are closed. These restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
Motorists are advised to use 22nd Street as an alternate route. Southbound traffic remains unaffected.
Please avoid the area if possible, expect delays, and follow all posted signs and detours.

Green Carts return to bi-weekly collection beginning March 30

Beginning March 30, residential green cart organics collection will return to bi-weekly collection. Bi-weekly collection will remain in place until the end of November.
Residents are advised to check their collection dates online at saskatoon.ca/collectioncalendar or by downloading the Saskatoon Waste Wizard app.

Circle Drive northbound traffic restrictions at train bridge overpass to lift early afternoon
March 23, 2026 - 12:16pm
Traffic restrictions will be lifting on Circle Drive at the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Rail and Pedestrian Overpass, south of the Attridge Drive Overpass, early this afternoon.
The northbound curb lane was closed following an over-height vehicle impact on March 22. CPKC structural engineers completed their inspection of the train bridge on March 23.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Rail and Pedestrian Overpass (south of the Attridge Drive Overpass) was impacted by an over-height vehicle causing damage to the structure.
Traffic is currently restricted to one northbound lane; the curb lane has been closed. The traffic restrictions will remain in place until CPKC engineers can assess the structure. The inspections are expected to be completed on March 23.
The roadway has been cleared of debris. Drivers are asked to follow all posted signs and detours.
The City will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
