The City’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association, is now accepting nominations for the annual “Living in Harmony” Awards, which recognizes local organizations or individuals for their efforts in the elimination of racial discrimination.  The entry deadline for submissions and nominations is Friday, March 8, 2019. Committee members will select the winning entries/nominations.

The City reminds property owners that Monday, February 4, 2019, is the last day to file a formal 2019 Assessment Appeal. The 2019 Property Assessment Roll opened for public inspection on January 2, 2019.

Two lanes of Circle Drive eastbound near the intersection of Quebec Avenue are closed this morning as the City works on repairing the traffic signals. Drivers can expect both curb lanes on Circle Drive eastbound to be closed at the intersection with traffic accommodated in the median lane. Drivers can still turn right onto Quebec Avenue. The intersection is operating as a three-way-stop as the lights are not operational. Drivers should avoid the route if possible, or if going this direction anticipate delays and plan extra time on their commutes.

Environment Canada forecast for Saturday includes light snow throughout the day and then a risk of mixed rain and snow overnight.  The forecast for Sunday includes more snow, dropping temperatures and strong wind gusts.  These weather conditions increase the risk of icy conditions on high-traffic roads, bridges and overpasses, and approaching busy intersections.  It can also result in reduced visibility.

Saskatoon Light and Power will be replacing light fixtures on both Highway 11 ramps at Vic Boulevard starting at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28. Both ramps will be completely closed while work is underway. The project is expected to take 2 hours to complete, barring unforeseen circumstances or weather delays.
