Taylor Street will be closed between Lorne and St George avenues on Monday, November 21, at 8:00 a.m. for water main repair work. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone. This project is expected to take one day to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Pick up the guide from any City leisure facility, Saskatoon public library or anywhere the StarPhoenix is sold. Visit saskatoon.ca/leisureguide for a complete list of pick-up locations.

4th Avenue will be closed between 20th and 21st streets on Monday, November 21, starting at 9:00 a.m. for vault installation work. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone. This project is expected to take six hours to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Winter is here, and parks maintenance is underway for the City’s diverse park spaces. To provide residents with park access year-round, these spaces require a range of care and management techniques throughout the winter months.

Some of the main park maintenance service levels in the winter months include:

Park Path and Sidewalk Clearing

Avenue H will be closed between 30th and 31st streets on Friday, November 18, at 7:00 a.m. for sanitary manhole repair work. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone. This project is expected to take one day to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.                                                   

City Council has confirmed the site of a future event centre/arena will be at the Midtown Shopping Centre North Parking Lot. The location was selected at a Special Meeting of City Council this afternoon.

The Downtown Event and Entertainment District is a large, transformational project that will develop over many years. Proceeding with the development of the Downtown Event and Entertainment District project, and the vision to create a shared public space where everyone feels welcome, required a decision of City Council on the future location of the event centre/arena.
